How to update Autel DS808 (With Conkit) software:
 
1. Make sure the Display Tablet is connected to a power source with stable access to the internet.
2. Tap the Update application button from the MaxiDAS Job Menu;
    or tap the update notification message when received one;
    or tap the Update icon on Vehicle Menu in Diagnostics application.
    The Update application screen displays.
 
3. Check all available updates:
If you decide to update all the items, tap the Update All button.
If you only want to update one or some of the item(s), tap the Update button on the right column of the specific item(s).
 
4. Tap the Pause button to suspend the updating process. When you tap Continue to renew the update, the updating process will resume
from the break point.
 
5. When the updating process is completed, the firmware will be installed automatically. The previous version will be replaced.

Question: Can you use this to program new keys
Answer:   Yes you can reprogram keys with this tester

Question: Is it true that this model is no longer updateable? I was just going to purchase one,but if that is the case it is worthless
Answer:   I can only tell you that I updated mine for Mercedes and chevy right after I registered it

Question: can you program the abs module with this
Answer:DS708 can not program the abs module.Only maxisys pro can do it

Question: Is it availalable with standard package which has less adapters and cables?
Answer:Yes, we have standard package Autel Maxidas DS808.

Question: Is it difficult to register this device? And can it support Spanish?
Answer: Registering the device was easy. You simply go to autel’s website and set up an account. Once you do that you take the registration code/passcode from the scan tool and register it on the website. You then make sure that the scan tool is hooked up to your wifi which is setup in settings. Then you are ready to update the scan tool with the latest software.
Changing the language settings is also easy. You simply do that in settings as well and have multiple different choices. I do know Spanish was one of them. I returned mine because it could not code or reset any adaptaions in any modules on my vehicles. My vehicles are about 15 years old and I think the support on older vehicles goes away with the updates. It probably has more capabilities on the newer vehicles. I should have purchased one of these 5 years ago and never updated it so that the scan tool could retain its capabilities.

Question: Can i use for other connections besides OBD2?
Answer: Yes, this is full set version, it is included with many cables and adapter which are not OBD2.

Question: What is the head set used for with the scan tool
Answer:It’s not used with the tool is just a free give away to get you to buy an outdated tool that according to autel there will be no more updates after Dec 2017. I sent it back because I couldn’t get it to update or more like it removed software during update which is another common complaint on their site. I feel it’s dishonest to sell things claiming a year full updates and it’s not a year is much less than a year but I guess China isn’t afraid of a class action for fraud.

Question: Does it do tire pressure and how about the free headset?
Answer:It will perform limited tire pressure functions (i.e. Read it) if the ECU program allows it via OBD II connector. The free head phones are surprisingly very good, they are comfortable, easy to use, battery lasts a long time and rechargeable.

Question: Does this tool have bi-directional control and diagnostics for the Body control Module?
Answer: Yes, of course, it can support it.

Question: can it program tpms sensor
Answer: It can put the car into programing mode but you will need a tpms sensor tool

Question: can i use in Spanish language ?
Answer: may we know what’s your serial No. of your DS708? To change language, you need to download all the software again, so your device needs to be within the updating period. If it is still within updating preriod, please provide us the serial No. and we can ask Autel to authorize Spanish for you.

Question: can this unit be used to relearn the idle, on a 2010 chevy 1500 silverado z71, auto trans, 5.3
Answer: Yes, it can be supported.

Question: Dose it work on 24v truck
Answer: Mine is a 708 and is 12 volt only. You may have to get one for heavy duty trucks, depending on the make. Sorry I couldn’t help.

Review 1:With the Maxisys I was a little skeptical with it...cause i have a thing with Chinese made products...but after researching and viewing videos on this scanner...I was sold with it's functions. When I received it let me tell you...I am impressed as soon as I opened the box. The first thing I like the weight and size of it. It's light and very comfortable moving around especially that it's bluetooth...wow done with cables! Next I read people reviewing about disappointments on the updating...it was not as long as they say...I'm connected to cable modem and the update took just 1hr 1/2 and in the afternoon. I did it Ethernet instead if Wifi to make it faster. So I believe those people had connectivity issues. Now the best part, the speed of this thing...incredible. Wow the booting up, the ease of touch screen...it feels like navigating through my Samsung S6. I've had this for a week...it it already saved me money. I had a 2016 LandRover RangeRover that needed a rear brake repair...when it came time for the repair, I had no knowledge it had electronic parking brake...so I almost thought I was going to lose that job till I checked to see If the Maxisys had the electronic brake release feature...and shocking it did!! I was so happy! Next job I had was a 2009 Hyundai Sonata 4cyl, complaint was it had a 2-1 rough downshift...found there's a recall that needed to be reprogrammed on these symptoms...guess what...this thing has a Transmission ECU reset feature...and it worked! Unbelievable! I'm very happy with this and also glad I didn't go as far as investing in Snapon or Matco products. It's good enough for me!

Review 2:I think DS708 is the first generation of iconic device for Autel, because of its reasonable price and cost efficient function. I owned one DS708 for many years, but regret that it will not be updated any more. So I intended to add its new extended version- DS808 for my small repair shop, which can fully meet my requirements. Its new CPU and LCD touch screen, dramatically improved the entire users’ experience, much more smooth comparing with DS708. Personally, I would recommend this tool for those small shops with limit budgets. Of course, if money is not a problem, Maxisys Elite may be your good choice.

Review 3:Actually I’m self-maintainer not a shop guy, I already have Diaglink but need more professional device, which can help me do some features as adaptation or Matching & lots of things. I do like 908P but expensive, so I’m buying DS808, affordable price and good performance.

Review 4:Compatible to my cars,it seems it is compatible to many US, European’Asian vehicles ,user friendly and has software for different vehicle models and systems. Very handy and has different adapters for the car models, I will use the equipment to scan and diagnose.
